A couple of weeks ago Rob entered the Waterstones LEGOLit competition. The challenge was to recreate a scene from a beloved book using LEGO and send them a photo of the finished results.
One of the things I love about Rob is how creative and inventive he is; he always seems to have a little project on the go whether it’s taking pieces from broken cameras to make a new functional camera or making a budget heater out of a Pepsi can, or turning a Nerf gun into a Steampunk masterpiece. He is always trying out something new and learning new skills. It keeps life interesting and cheerful!
So I knew this competition would be right up his street and sure enough he was keen to put something together.
We spent a long time discussing which scene to recreate and in the end decided on Hound of the Baskervilles. It’s iconic, we already had a Sherlock-lookalike LEGO man and it would give Rob the challenge to make fog.
And here is the finished result:
Waterstones announced the winners yesterday and Rob won first prize! So chuffed! Rob worked hard on this project and the prize is more LEGO, so that will keep us both happy! Rob will share the prize right? Right?
